Lucah was an amazing dog with a stellar personality - sweet, goofy, and a pleasure to be around. He was the result of very careful line breeding, and while he wasn't perfect (NO Mastiff is), he did possess many of the qualities we strive for in our dogs. Lucah was a gentle boy, who would do anything for the people he loved.

Lucah was fully tested both genetically & orthopedically for his era, and has also been DNA tested for current issues affecting our breed. His pedigree goes back to some very old American dogs who were instrumental in the development of the breed here in North America, including many of the original Iron Hills and Deer Run pedigrees.

Lucah was an active Therapy dog, and although his massive size limited the number of places he was allowed to visit, he was always an impeccable ambassador for the breed.

Both Lucah & Alli's sides of the family have produced dogs living into their teens, with grandparents, great-great-grandparents and other relatives competing, winning (& loving it!) in the conformation & obedience rings as veterans.

Alli takes after her mother Wednesday, and is sweet, unassuming, and regularly silly. She is a sun worshipper and will 'sun tan' on the deck until I drag her back in; however in winter she can be seen bouncing through our snow drifts like a jackrabbit. She also LOVES water and will detour towards any she sees... much to my chagrin some days!

Alli has been carefully line bred on both sides of her pedigree, and is an lovely girl with excellent conformation, good angulation, a level topline, and good depth of body. While she does need a better head and more substance in my eyes, she comes from lines known for their heads and substance - and the puppies from her first litter have shown that she passes this along.

Her show career was somewhat delayed due to Covid, and Alli didn't get to see the inside of a show ring until late 2021 where she picked up a few points. Once she got back out in the summer of 2022, she finished her Canadian Championship in just 3 show weekends with mostly major wins, and topped it off by winning Reserve Winner's Bitch at the 2022 Canadian Mastiff Club National Specialty!

Alli's health testing is complete, and any results not available on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) database will be emailed upon request.

This breeding will be considered an outcross, as there are no similar/related dogs in the first 3 generations; and is being done to provide some genetic vigour to our lines. Time honoured wisdom from many breeding communities advocates line breeding for 2-3 generations and then outcrossing for one, before going back to line breeding. This helps to prevent the 'genetic bottleneck' that can occur when breeding dogs (or any animal for that matter) that are closely related for too many generations in a row.

Our goal (as always), is to produce puppies who mirror the best qualities of their parents - namely their breed type, temperament, health and conformation. By using healthy, fully tested dogs with excellent & complimentary phenotypes (physical characteristics), we end up with puppies who exhibit the traits we want to reproduce (i.e. wonderful temperaments, massive bone structure, big heads, great toplines, etc.).

The puppies from this breeding should be absolutely stunning, with large blocky heads, substantial bone and nice deep bodies. As always, I place my puppies based on the best home for them, not on a first-come first-served basis.

We will (as always), be reserving the pick male and female from this litter for ourselves & the stud dog owners until we decide which one fits best with our breeding program and future vision.

All of the puppies in this litter will be $3,500 regardless of colour or sex, and will be sold on Spay/Neuter Contracts with Non-Breeding Registrations from the Canadian Kennel Club.
