I asked Luther's (Louie) owner & breeder Sue Visocchi to describe what it was like having Luther as a family member for almost 11 years - this is what she had to say:

"Luther had an exceptional personality and super sweet temperament. He was a gentle soul and a sweet spirit. And oh how he loved to play with puppies! When his daughter “Maddie” had a litter... Grandpa Louie was happiest when all 8 puppies were crawling all over him pulling at his lips and tail!

When it came to the show ring, Luther finished his American Championship easily with limited showing from the Bred-by Class. He won multiple BOB's from the classes and a Group 3 placement - all owner-handled. Quite an accomplishment!

Luther was an excellent mover, and was very clean coming and going. He was incredibly sound with a level topline, and a beautiful typey head - in fact he wore a 34” choker just so I could get it over his head! He had a very broad front and nice tight feet.  His apricot color was so deep, it almost looked like a mahogany.  He was a perfectly balanced Mastiff!

Garden hoses, kiddie pools, sprinklers.... Luther loved the water!!  He would play for hours in his pool or attack the sprinkler as I watered the grass. I went through several sprinkers by the way... thanks to Louie :-)

Luther loved the fact I planted a garden every year.  He would somehow get through the fence to pick out zucchini, cucumbers or string beans, and then lay in the grass eating what he'd harvested.  When I finally repaired the fence so it was Luther (and Maddie) proof... he would push on the fence and take bites of whatever vegetable he could reach through the wire!!

He was very much loved... and is very much missed!!
