Stanley was his breeder/owner's pride & joy, and as she described him, her “soul dog”. He lived to almost 10, and had a sweet, sweet personality & a stellar temperament - he was friendly without being effusive, and didn't have an aggressive bone in his body. While Stanley took a bit to warm up to strangers, he was friendly with other dogs and accepting of new situations.

Stanley didn't get out to show much, but he finished his American Championship quickly with mostly major wins, and was invited to the Eukanuba Classic that year. Stanley's mom Genie (Am Ch Genies Wish of Audley,HOF) was also an incredible show dog - she took an Award of Merit at the 2003 Mastiff Club of America National Specialty, and placed number six in the USA two years in a row. Stanley is also a ½ brother to Jules (BBES Am/Int Ch Audley Farms Family Jules), who is one of the prepotent sires in our breeding program.

While Stanley was tall, he had plenty of substance, and weighed in at a ‘svelte’ 240 lbs! He had a very nice head, large bone, great rear angulation and a level ("board") topline, and consistently produced large boned, healthy, typey puppies with his best attributes. Those puppies have excelled in home environments and the show ring, with many of them receiving their American & Canadian championships; and at least one of them receiving an Award of Merit at the Westminster Dog Show!

If there was anything I could change about Stan, it would be a little more shoulder layback, and a touch more depth/width. Stanley was diagnosed with DJD in his left elbow, but didn't seem to pass it along to any of his offspring. DJD in a single elbow is generally caused by an injury of some type - whether in the whelping box, wrestling with older dogs, or cavorting recklessly… and is one of the reasons I'm such a stickler about the exercise these guys get as puppies/growing dogs.

Despite the elbow, Stan still has a lot of stellar attributes to offer to a girl with a lovely front and a bit more “oomph” - if you get what I mean!
